“Art therapy is not only for people experiencing emotional difficulty – it can heighten creativity and enrich life. It can be used as either a primary or adjunctive therapeutic mode"

What is Art Therapy?
“Art Therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship."
AMERICAN ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION
Jodi has experienced the transformative power of art therapy, both personally and professionally, and is passionate about sharing this with others. Jodi has extensive experience in this field as a therapist in addiction treatment and recovery and as an art teacher for youth, adults and children. She offers a sensitive, trauma-informed, inclusive approach and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, whether at her studio or place of your choice. As a professional member of BCATA and CATA, she upholds the professional and ethical standards of these associations.
Jodi deftly creates the safety, support and opportunity for others to release fear and anxiety so they can freely explore themselves through art materials. The art materials act as a container for our emotion and our stories and convey what may be difficult or impossible to express in words. With Jodi’s therapeutic, trauma-informed practice, individuals can make sense and meaning of these stories and begin.
