High quality giclee canvas prints can be made from most of my paintings, and are available in a variety of sizes and finishes. Costs are generally less than original work. I prefer to consult with you to create your order to ensure you receive exactly what you desire. Shipping is also available, direct from the printer.
I carefully selected Canvas Plus, in Ladysmith, BC, to create the prints. Below is their description of the process, excerpted from their site, canvasplus.ca :
“We use Breathing Color LYVE canvas, their award-winning, OBA free, truly archival, museum-grade canvas with incredible dMax and sharp detail — in a class of its own. The natural texture of our canvas produces prints that are often hard to tell from an art original, and because they are not behind glass, offer stunning, rich-colour views from any angle.
The inks used in our Epson printer are 200 year lightfast for colour and 400 years for black & white prints, as certified by the Wilhelm Institute.
Before framing, we carefully coat all of our canvas prints with Breathing Color Timeless Coatings, which are certified 100+ year archival by the Fine Art Trade Guild. They pair beautifully with Breathing Color LYVE canvas and are available in High Gloss, Satin (most popular) and True Matte finishes. UV protection is built right in. Coating is critical for long-lasting, vibrant art, so it is included in our pricing. Beware of Giclée canvas printers who don't coat their canvases.
Our stretcher bars are responsibly sourced from sustainable paulownia wood. This lightweight wood is sturdy, durable, and resistant to environmental changes. We custom cut stretcher bars for each print, building them into light, strong, well-braced (corner bracing and cross bracing as required) frames of any size from 8x8 to 54 by almost any length.
Our stretcher bars come in two thicknesses. 3/4 thick bars provide a lower profile of the canvas print on the wall. They are commonly used for smaller canvas prints. 1.5 thick bars are the choice for most of the canvas prints we frame.
Canvas prints are a wonderful wall art option because they can look beautifully tailored without an external frame. We offer a wide variety of side treatments (how the sides wrapped around the stretcher look) to create the finished look of your desire.
